Yellow Roses

This piece began as a spontaneous flow of colour and intuition. As I laid the first markings of the yellow roses, I felt a strong, pulsing energy in my solar plexus chakra, the centre of personal power, confidence, and joy. The warm, golden blooms became symbols of vitality and self-expression, each one infused with inner light. What began as a simple gesture of yellow paint quickly became something more. Each mark seemed to awaken the solar plexus chakra, radiating a healing warmth that poured itself into the roses as they bloomed. The golden petals became vessels of vitality and self-expression, each one holding this inner light.

At first, I saw a field of yellow roses with one Abracadabra rose resting on a bed of green beneath a soft sky, and one Abracadabra rose floating above it all. But something compelled me to turn the painting around, and suddenly the sky became the ocean. In that moment of revelation, I cried.  A healing had occurred.

The ocean, as the element of water, brought the energy of the sacral chakra, creativity, flow, and emotional depth into the work in a profound way. Among the cluster of yellow roses are several Abracadabra roses, one at the top, on the sides, and one near the water’s edge. Their striking marbled patterns create points of transformation and mystery throughout the composition, inviting the eye to wander and the spirit to wonder.

The roses rest against a lush green backdrop, a grounding connection to the heart chakra and the nurturing energy of nature. Together, these layers create a conversation between earth and water, power and tenderness, individuality and unity.

Yellow Roses is both a celebration of inner radiance and an invitation to embrace the unique, unpredictable beauty that transforms the familiar into the extraordinary.
